Everything is packed, our minivan is loaded and I am just about to leave for Miss Minnesota Week 2012. I have never felt more confident in my life and with those feelings came the realization that I am so confident because of the extraordinary team I have had supporting me.
First, to my directors and Coon Rapids family: thank you for being so welcoming; not only to me but the entire Phillippi family. Diane and Thersea, you have been the best directors I could have asked for. From your mama bear hugs to your caring personalities I have loved every moment. Teda, thank you for your support and your creative eye; I love the buttons and cards you have created. Also, I have enjoyed having my Junior Royalty; and I am honored to be a role model for them. A special shout out to Sue and John Leggate: thank you both for all you have done for me and the Miss Coon Rapids Organization! Butchy, you are an incredible man and I always look forward to seeing you and laughing at your hilarious jokes. I love all of you like my own family and I am honored to represent the city of Coon Rapids on the Miss Minnesota stage.
To Michelle Larkin and the Larkin dance studio, thank you for choreographing an amazing talent and helping me find the most perfect costume! I am eager to get on stage and share the Larkin Legacy.
Midwest Gymnastics-thank you for your patience and guidance! To David, Julian, Punnar, and Laurie, thank you for donating your time to help me reach success.
Sarah Moses with the Pageant Shop, thank you for dressing me if the best wardrobe I could have imagined! From shoes to swimsuits to evening gowns you truly have it all and give the best service I have ever seen!
Cheri Kennedy, thanks to you I finally feel ready for anything. Bring it on Miss Minnesota Week! ;-) Also, a special thank you to Marcia, Denny, Gerri, Laurie and Megan Elhert for being tough but constructive mock interview judges.
And last but certainly not least, to my family, thank you for your CONSTANT support over the past three years. I am at a loss of words to express how much I appreciate each and everyone one of you. My parents, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends- I am always proud to have one of the biggest cheering sections, thank you for making that so. Mom and Dad thank you for supporting me financially, emotionally and physically. I am the successful woman I am today because of how you raised me. Dustin- thank you for being my number one fan and for always believing in me. You are the kindest person I know and I appreciate everything you do immensely.
I am so incredibly blessed to have had the best support system and team to help prepare me for Miss Minnesota. I feel ready and I am giving this my all!
Love always,
Samantha Phillippi
