As many of you know I am an Emotional and Behavioral Disorder (EBD) Paraprofessional at Eagle Point Elementary School and I love my job! Not only do I love my job because I enjoy bettering the lives of the students I work with but I also love the environment where I work. I can now also add that I am very proud to work at this school. Every morning last week the 2nd grade students sold candy canes, holiday pencils, and erasers to raise money for the Children’s Hospital in honor of Petra Jacobsen. Eagle Point is one of the smaller schools in our district and still managed to raise over $1,000! After adding up the amount of time the store was open before school for a week the students raised all that money within an hour and fifteen minutes.
This morning during our all school morning meeting I presented the money Eagle Point raise to Nancy, one of Gillette’s representatives. It was wonderful to spend some time talking to the whole school about how amazing Gillette is. I also made a giant check to present to Gillette so the students could physically see how much money they raised for such a worthwhile cause. I could not be more proud to work at this school. Keep up the great work Eagle Point!
Until next time,
Samantha Phillippi
