We all learn and grow so much through the Miss America system. Take my friend Liz Scipioni for example, who got her dream job working with the Special Olympics because of her commitment to her platform.
This past weekend was the Special Olympics Fall Tournament and Liz invited us titleholders to be a part of this fun filled weekend; I came to help before my weekly Gillette visit on Sunday. There was so much going on and everything looked like so much fun. I was asked to give the team their medals and ribbons they won from their placements in the tournament.
At the tournament I also had the opportunity to meet Miss Waseca County Sleigh and Cutter and MWCSC Outstanding Teen. They are both very sweet and it was wonderful to meet some of the new Miss MN class of 2014 since I have been out of the “pageant world” lately.
Hopefully everyone is enjoying their summers as much as I am. If I’m not working I’m by the pool, at a Twins game, or exploring Minneapolis. Only a few weeks left of summer- time to live it up!
Until next time,
Samantha Phillippi
