11 years ago today I was in my 7th grade band class waiting for our teacher who we all had thought was just running late. I remember her coming in with tears in her eyes and everyone in my class was rather confused. The first thing she had said was we were not going to have class today and instead we were going to watch TV. At first most students were ecstatic to watch TV instead of have class, but shortly after announcing we are going to watch the news all class period our teacher stressed the importance about what was happening. I remember not fully understanding what was going on and that my teacher kept saying we were watching history. I remember thinking the news looked like a horror movie as we watched people covered in white ash walk aimlessly through the smoke. I remember not understanding why someone would do such a thing. I remember thinking there was no way this could be real. I will never forget this event that changed the lives of everyone in some way and I am forever grateful for everyone who has risked their lives to ensure our safety! I hope everyone can take a moment to remember where they were this day 11 years ago.
