Last night was our Raise Your Voice performance at the Rarig Center in the U of M. Everything came together beautifully and I couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect performance. Our performance was described as boundary breaking and my parents said, “it really hit home.” For those of you who were not able to attend, Raise Your Voice was a performance that took very serious political issues (such as domestic abuse, trafficking, prostitution, and rape) and presented them through various art forms. We were an all woman cast with five opera singers, one pianist, one guitarist, and once dancer (me). I am honored to be a part of something so moving, inspiring and powerful. A HUGE thank you to David Walsh and Laura Hynes for reaching out to me so I could become a part of collaborating such an empowering performance and for having me as your ‘one dancer’. I have enjoyed every minute of working with both of you! You both have such a unique and intriguing eye that made this performance such a success. I have never worked with such a talented group of people. Another big thank you to Jennifer Hutchings for driving up from Texas four days early to attend this performance. You are a remarkable woman and I am so glad you attended the performance, it means a lot to me! I am greatly looking forward to Anna's Hope this Sunday!
Until next time,
