This past Saturday was the Miss Minnesota Workshop. It was the first time the local title holders were together and it was great to finally meet all of the girls. We first took care of business turning in paperwork and then we figured out contestant order and roommates. I am contestant number eight. I will compete in swimsuit and evening gown the first night of preliminaries; then on stage question and talent the second night. My roommate this year is the beautiful Katie Hout, Miss Morris. I know we are going to be great hotel mates.
Saturday night was the Miss Minnesota Outstanding Teen Pageant. Eleven beautiful and poised young ladies competed for the title of becoming the next MMOT. Alexis Houule was an amazing Miss MN Outstand Teen 2011 and left big shoes to fill which I feel newly crowned Bailey Wachholz will do an amazing job at. Bailey had a dream and never gave up. I am so proud of Bailey and believe she is the definition of hard work and perseverance. A highlight of the teen pageant was seeing my Miss North Dakota Sweetheart friend, Laura Harmon.
I ended this wonderful weekend with my best visit at Gillette to date! It was April Fool’s Day so we made silly hats and shared funny jokes. I have never seen the children laugh so much. It was a heartwarming visit and the best way to end a fabulous weekend. I am very excited for the Miss Minnesota Pageant in June!
Until next time,
Samantha
