Greetings Coon Rapids Community,
My time as Miss Coon Rapids has passed by way too quickly, but not without instilling memories that I will cherish forever. Being Miss Coon Rapids has been everything I hoped it would be and more. From volunteering at community events like the Princess Party, Tee it Up for the Troops and Junior Royalty appearances; to talking to 2nd grade classrooms about my platform, Dance this Weigh: Physical Activity for a Healthy Lifestyle, this year has been one I will never forget. I am proud to be a part of an organization that allows young women the opportunity to use their talents and interests to serve others.
First and foremost I would like to thank the community of Coon Rapids. I was able to attend many local events and you all have made me feel very welcome as a title holder in your city. I also would personally like to extend a special thank you to all of the businesses that sponsor the Miss Coon Rapids Scholarship Program; without caring businesses like yours this organization would not be possible.
I would like to extend a very special thank you to Diane Buszta and Theresa Leggate, the directors of the Miss Coon Rapids Organization. You two women do so much for this pageant and organization; this program would not be a success without all of the leadership and hard work you both contribute. Your support and encouragement this year is very much appreciated. Thank you for welcoming me into your Coon Rapids Family, I am honored to forever be a part of such a wonderful group.
To the rest of the Miss Coon Rapids board and volunteers, especially John and Sue Leggate, Teda Staricha and Marcy Carlson: thank you for all your hard work and dedication. Your commitment to your community is an inspiration to us all. The Coon Rapids committee is made up of the most wonderful people, and you all have truly touched my life.
To my Junior Royalty Sisters; you all are such wonderful young women and I have enjoyed getting to know each of you during my year as Miss Coon Rapids. We made such great memories from the waffle breakfast, to parades and even our day of fun at MOA. Thank you for always being the first to volunteer your time when we needed some extra help. I hope all of you compete for Miss Coon Rapids some day and I will be in the audience cheering you on.
Last but certainly not least, thank you to my parents, my family and our friends. You all have been the biggest and best support system anyone could ever ask for. Thank you all for always believing in me. I am blessed to have a family that enjoys watching me compete and is always there to help. I always have the largest and loudest cheering section. Your love and encouragement motivates me to follow my dreams and never give up.
It has been an honor and a privilege to represent this community. Thank you for an amazing year.
All of my best,
Samantha Phillippi
