A few weeks ago a co-worker from Eagle Point Elementary School and I started teaching adaptive dance classes through Woodbury Dance Center. We were asked to teach this class because of the high demand of families wanting to get their children into dance but couldn’t because of different restraints.
Our class has a variety of students with different needs. We have students who simply need more assistance with focus and redirection to students who need more physical assistance. We believe that those things shouldn’t hold the kids back from being in a dance class and doing something that they love.
Recently we were on the front page of the Woodbury Bulletin (you can read the article by clicking this link: http://www.woodburybulletin.com/content/adaptive-classes-allow-more-children-join-dance). If you are interested or know someone who may be interested in joining our dance classes contact Woodbury Dance Center at (651) 735-9252. We have a movement class for ages 4-7 and ages 8-12, and we also have a ballet class for ages 5-10.
Until next time,
Samantha Phillippi
